Since we live close to native park-lands, we’re lucky enough to have the most enthralling, arresting bush-birds as visitors.
I’m speaking, of course, about kookaburras. Their hearty laughter never fails to divert my attention.
This afternoon, a pair flew into our backyard, and landed on the clothes-line. Together, they produced an amazing chorus, laughing triumphantly at the top of their voices.
Not content with this display, they flew, one at at time, high into our maple tree, and raised their voluminous voices again. Briefly I watched them: they seemed to rejoice in their freedom and mastery of the sky and the land.
Then, like so many wondrous beings, they disappeared.

Thanks. I’m an author of, to date, six published books. All the topics I write about are chosen by me.
