It’s Easy, Going Down….

It's easy, going down....

It’s easy, going down….

It’s easy, going down….

That’s the thought that pops into my head as I approach this, the top of the hill that leads to our local swimming baths.

The lure of the water is enough to make me forget, at least for a whiie, the difficulty of climbing the steep return.

Nevertheless, the beautiful surroundings and refreshing salt water make it all so worthwhile.

It looks stunning Margaret. Is the swimming baths outside and coastal? Do you end up with fish in there too?

Hi, David! it isn’t exactly coastal, it’s up a river, and dependent upon a reasonable depth of tide. But there are quite a few fish, though hard to catch. We very often see the mullet jumping!

I just have this very Disneyish vision of you swimming along and coming nose to nose with a big fish swimming the opposite way. At least now I know it’s a tidal river it explains the salt water. Maybe you can drag a net behind you and catch supper while you enjoy swimming?

There’s a net defining the baths, since Bull Sharks are notorious for swimming by…..
My worst close encounter, though, was with a red jellyfish that had somehow gotten through the net and stung me in a most unforgettable way.
