Not so long ago I was on the spot to record this rather delightful image. The sun going down created a warm glow, highlighting the Tower, especially.
For those not familiar, this Tower is in the heart of the city of Sydney.

Nothing but cloudy skies…
Well, almost.
Here in Sydney, we’ve had record rainfall for the month of August. Sure, the sun has broken through, even delivering days of unremitting sunshine. But, overall, it’s been a grey, soggy month.
Not to complain, though. Misty days can be exceptionally beautiful.
Here’s a scene down by the river.
Enjoy!

I was stumped when I first spotted this wary-looking bird. It had been making its way along the shore, crouching as it stalked its prey of small crabs that live in the mudflats there.
Armed with a number of photographs I’d taken of it, I sought to find out its identity. And I did: it’s a Striated Heron.
It isn’t common around here. Despite visiting this area very often, I have spotted it only a few times.
I’ll bet the crabs are pleased about this…

Sydney’s weather today may have been rather cold and wet, but this afternoon I made a discovery that for me banished the gloom.
A sincere ‘Thank you’ to Goodreads member Tony Parsons, who has obviously devoted time and effort in writing this review of my latest release, ‘Love, Desire and Betrayal’.
