It’s Jacaranda Time!

The Jacaranda in flower

Here in Sydney, Australia, it’s Jacaranda time!

We have a large specimen in our yard, and its glorious flowers are fully out, even starting to drop and form a stunning, purple carpet.

There are many of these trees where I live, and they certainly make their presence felt.

Some may not like them. They’re messy, shedding tiny leaves, and later, flowers (which can be slippery). But for all that, they are still magnificent.

Obviously I have no idea who sent the mail until I open it. When I saw the title I thought it was some kind of exotic drink you come home to instead of a martini. What a delight to see it was my great friend Margaret sharing a picture of a beautiful tree with us. I still envy you the beauty of the plants and animals there and have to compensate with the magic of Wales and it’s rolling hills.

Maybe someone will take up your idea, David:)
Glad you liked the picture. I’ve never been out of Australia, so I’ll have to imagine the hills of Wales. 🙂

I love the Jacaranda! They are all over Southern California. We had a big one in our front yard when we lived in San Diego! The blooming time for those is May and June since it’s the northern hemisphere! Thanks for sharing!!

I’m glad to hear that their glory spreads to your part of the world, Kirt. :)Thanks for comment.
