Sulphur-crested Cockatoo

How Australian is this? A beautiful Sulphur-crested Cockatoo perched high in a native tree.

Those of us who take the time and opportunity to visit Australian bushland, very frequently are rewarded by sights such as this.

As an Aussie you;re amazingly lucky to have such fantastic native species around you. I’m sure I read somewhere that in or near London (UK) there’s a colony of Australian parrots living free. I want to move there now.
The sulphur-crested cockatoo can come and live in the trees around me anyday. They’re magnificent.

That’s amazing, David. Maybe pets that somehow escaped and had families….
At home, I just spotted a small flock, about six, flying over the nearby rooftops.
I agree that we in Australia are very lucky to have so many beautiful parrots.
