So Aptly Named: a Rainbow Lorikeet

Margaret's Classic Posts

If ever a bird was aptly named, it’s the Rainbow Lorikeet. This spectacularly-coloured medium – size parrot abounds in our local park. And why wouldn’t it? Apart from narrow roads and a few other facilities, the area is virtually untouched bushland – the perfect home for an Australian native bird. It seems to get along quite well with both the visitors and other wildlife, too. Quite often I see these parrots being fed by picnickers.

Enjoy!
