A Clean Kookaburra…

31 Jul

Margaret's Classic Posts

Despite the daytime temperature being less than summery, the birds are still to be found cleaning themselves in whatever receptacles of water that they can spot.

Here’s a photograph of a Laughing Kookaburra as he mentally prepares to dry himself after a refreshing dip. Copyright ©                 2015_1028imagefacebook0100

“Whatever’s the matter, Charlotte? You seem as though you have the weight of the world on your shoulders. Not still pining over Sam, I hope…”

“No, Mum. It was never serious – not really, anyway. It was fun while it lasted,” I added, smiling a little as thoughts of the good times came flooding back.

“Well, I’m pleased to hear you say that. I remember my first boyfriend – Derek was his name. I thought that there’d be no tomorrow, after he dumped me for a new girl on the block. How wrong I was…”

It’s Wattle time, here in Sydney, Australia.

In truth, there are species of Wattle out where I live almost every month of the year, but right now, it’s more than normally plentiful.

Here’s a photo of one that grows near the Georges River.2013_0902imagefacebook0113

Down by the river. where Chicki and I love to walk…

But at high tide, the beach all but disappears.

But it’s still a scenic place to visit…

Togetherness…

There’s no mistaking the bond between this pair of ducks as they share a local water-hole in the park.

Can’t help loving ducks…
