Stop Press: I’m in a Magazine!

26 Nov

Here’s news: I’m in a magazine!

The Australia Times has just published its first edition about Indie writers and their work. Not only have they reviewed my eleventh title, ‘Love, Desire and Betrayal’, but also they’ve published an article about me and my writing.

I’m thrilled!

News flash!

My short story, ‘The One That Got Away’, has been ‘Highly Commended’ in the Hurstville Discovery Writers Group 2014 competition : part of the Hurstville City Council Festival of Community Arts.

The competition had been open to adult  residents of Hurstville, Kogarah and Rockdale local government areas. For those unfamiliar, these councils are in suburban Sydney, N.S.W., Australia.

I’m thrilled!

Veronica’s Review of ‘Love, Desire and Betrayal’

7 Oct

A big ‘Thank you’ to Veronica for her 5 star review of ‘Love, Desire and Betrayal’.

In part, she writes:

‘Margaret Lynette Sharp’s writing is poetic and descriptive. The stories realistically depicted the heady feeling of falling in love and how circumstances and distance can put a strain on  a relationship.’

This title is currently available on Amazon Kindle. I am hoping that, in the not too distant future, a paperback version will be issued.

I’ve Been Short-Listed :)

News flash!

I’ve been Short-listed  🙂

As part of the Hurstville City Council 2014  Discovery Festival of Community Arts,  Hurstville Discovery Writers Group is holding both a Short Story Writing and Poetry Competition, and I’ve entered both.

The competition is open to all adult residents of Hurstville, Rockdale or Kogarah Municipality.

‘I didn’t know you wrote poetry’, I hear you say.  And normally, I don’t. But I have written in this genre before, and I decided to give it another go.

Not long ago I received an exciting  email, advising me that I have in fact been Short-listed. I don’t know at this stage which category it refers to.

As a first-time member of the the Short-listed Club, I can vouch for its positive vibes.

‘Extremely unique’ is how author and reviewer J. Kahele has described my eleventh title.

My sincere thanks go out to her for this delightful review that she has posted onto Goodreads.
