It’s Arrived: Love2read TV!

22 Sep

A couple of months ago, a fellow Friend of the National Year of Reading 2012 approached Ron and me about participating in a wonderful initiative: a collage of videos on the joys and wonders of reading.  His name is Timothy Chan.

Timothy has been highly instrumental in getting this project off the drawing-board and into reality. The first episodes are already being watched, and doubtless enjoyed, via the internet. Many more are already programmed.  Ron and I, ably assisted by our Maltese Chicki, are scheduled for the Authors Episode 3, to be released shortly.

Besides being a marvelous opportunity to meet our writers,  Love2read TV also presents its viewers with encounters from  folk of  all walks of life:  united by their unfailing  appreciation of the written word. Inspirational!

Have I whetted your interest? Then, why not put Google to work, and tune in to some real endorsements of the value of literature in all its forms.

How Good is The Australian Women Writers Challenge?

18 Apr

How good is The Australian Women Writers Challenge 2012?

Firstly, I have to say thanks to the organisers, Elizabeth Lhuede and Shelleyrae, as well as those tireless helpers like Brenda who have helped me so much in putting my books on the Challenge pages.

For the Challenge itself, it’s turned into a journey of discovery. Reviews posted by Shelleyrae and others have whetted my appetite for many enthralling volumes that would have otherwise escaped my notice. Likewise, my awareness of many outstanding  Australian women authors has skyrocketed!

In my own small way, I’m trying to promote the Challenge, both for the benefit of our writers and the community. What marvelous benefits could flow, if   greater enthusiasm for the written word could be aroused?

Spread the word: The Australian Women Writers Challenge is wonderful!

Take a Chance?

22 Oct

Looking for a book for yourself, or as a gift?

With many millions to choose from, aren’t you spoiled for choice? So, what are you after?

The big name authors: tried and tested, predictable?

The relatively unknown, like me, Margaret Lynette Sharp? Five books under my belt, and yet……

It’s all up to you. Do you take a chance: a chance on me?

Would you rather  chance the work of another, emerging writer?

Whatever your decision, there’ ll be  another day, and another book, awaiting.
