Tomorrow looks set to be a red-letter day.

It’s Chicki’s birthday!

Our little girl came into the world on October 6, 2010.

She settling down, I’m pleased to say: gaining in confidence all the time. And why shouldn’t she? She’s a real sweetie!

Happy Birthday, Ron!

8 Aug

Today is a special day. It’s the birthday of my husband Ronald Sharp B.E.M.

Ron was born in 1929, the year of the start of Great Depression.

His talent for organ building saw him chosen to design and construct the Grand Organ in the Concert Hall of the Sydney Opera House.

The highly acclaimed organ at Knox Grammar is also his work, as are others, including the fine instruments in Wollongong Town Hall and Perth Concert Hall.

Ron’s musicality is one of his most defining characteristics.

Happy Birthday, Dear Chicki!

Chicki the birthday girl!

Chicki the birthday girl!

Today’s the day you came into this world. three years ago.

Destiny saw to it that you had to wait until you were thirteen months of age before we all became a family. But wasn’t the wait worthwhile?

Since that day nearly two years ago when our eyes first met and you so shyly backed away,  our lives have become entwined.

You’re with us nearly all the time: sitting beneath our chairs, snuggled up to us on our bed, walking in the park….You name it, we’re together.

Hope you like your new rope toy!

Happy Birthday, our sweet little girl! Enjoy being three!

Chicki’s 2nd birthday

Chicki

It’s not every day our little girl turns two!

Her day started with a much-loved present: a brand new rope toy, which instantly found its way between her teeth, where she held it for what seemed as long as possible  for a little Maltese.

After breakfast, we’re off to the park for a stroll on the promenade, and a sniff around the distant beach.

Time to head home, but, surprisingly we all hear a chorus: Happy Birthday to You! Sure, it was meant for someone else, but we added our Chicki’s name, and it became the perfect end to her special day out.

Happy Birthday, Chicki!
