This Sulphur-crested Cockatoo  seems to be hanging on tightly to a tasty morsel.

I took this photo in the local park in suburban Sydney, Australia, and to me it typifies the delights of the Australian bush.

Enjoy!

On Top of The World…

Few parrots are as happy-looking as Sulphur-crested Cockatoos. Invariably they make me smile. While it’s common to see them in flocks, sometimes I see one, all alone.

This guy seems quite content to be a solos bird, on top of the world.

What a pose!

Don’t you love it when out of the blue your subject comes up with something different?

The face of this cockatoo just invites a comment, don’t you think?

One of the joys of living close to an Australian bushland area that boasts magnificent flocks of Sulphur-Crested Cockatoos!

Is that what Cocky is thinking?

Recently I was lucky to snap this beautiful White Cockatoo with its sulphur crest erect.

Australia is a haven for lovers of parrots!

Hello, Again!

Hello, again!

That seems to me to be what this cockatoo is thinking.

I snapped him one morning when the park was alive with birds.

That’s one of the sweetest attractions of living near this Australian bushland park: the sights and sounds of nature.

Enjoy!

Can you Spot the Cockatoo?

24 Aug

Can you spot the cockatoo?

It’s here, in a quite unusual place!

One of the pleasures of living near the river, set in bushland, is being able to observe nature first hand, and at close quarters.

Cockatoos, particularly white ones, are one of the stars of the parrot world, and they abound.

So, can you spot this adventurous one?
