Birds of a Feather?

A Heron and a Sea-gull share the shore.

I love  nature-watching, and none more so than that of birds.

Particularly fascinating, I find, is the interaction between the species.

Despite the trend of birds of a feather flocking together, one sometimes spots two unrelated species in fairly close contact; though often there’s a personal space issue in play.

Here’s a photograph I recently took of a common seagull and a heron, sharing the shoreline in the local river baths, in an outer suburb of Sydney, Australia.

Enjoy!
