I wonder what he’s thinking.
This Kookaburra seems to me to be in a reflective pose. He’s encroaching on human territory, boldly perching on a hand-rail that’s beside a major pathway to the river baths.
But I guess that he and his mates are by now well used to human contact. In fact, they often use it to their advantage, gathering snacks from unsuspecting (and sometimes compliant) picnickers.
Don’t you think he’s a handsome fellow?

Yes, I like kookaburras. They do seem thoughtful!
Highly intelligent, too 🙂
He does seem to be giving something a lot of thought.Unless of course this is just his ‘Handsome fellow’ camera pose.

They sure are cuties. Even here we have crows who forage along side the highways or on the highways after a road kill and wait until the last second to fly off the road. When you encounter them along side the road they just stand there letting the car pass them only a couple of feet away as if nothing is happening. They have adjusted too well to their surroundings.
Your crows sound as though they are highly successful scavengers.
There are so many fascinating birds….
Our crows do that too Odie. A very clever bird. 🙂
Taking time to think is wise, he must be a wise fella…
He certainly appears to be 🙂
