Like short and sweet romances? Then this is for you! On 30th April, 2016, my novella ‘Whatever It Takes’ will be free to download on Amazon Kindle. Set in both London and Sydney, this is the story of young love tested by distance.

I really do not know at exactly what time the eBook will become free. In Australia, I think it’s around 6 p.m.. But I understand that this offer extends to many countries including US, UK and Canada. So if the price hasn’t changed when you take a look, try again a little later. But remember, there are a mere twenty-four hours in which to secure your copy as a giveaway.

Enjoy!

Welcome Visitors!

Regular readers of my blogs will know I love ducks. Actually, I’m very keen on many types of birds, but somehow, ducks have the kind of cuteness that tugs at my heartstrings.

So, I’m sorry to report that ducks are less common visitors to the local swimming baths than they were say, five years ago. But on the upside, that makes their visits even more special.

Here’s a photo of a pair of my feathered friends: Chestnut Teals.

So Aptly Named: a Rainbow Lorikeet

If ever a bird was aptly named, it’s the Rainbow Lorikeet. This spectacularly-coloured medium – size parrot abounds in our local park. And why wouldn’t it? Apart from narrow roads and a few other facilities, the area is virtually untouched bushland – the perfect home for an Australian native bird. It seems to get along quite well with both the visitors and other wildlife, too. Quite often I see these parrots being fed by picnickers.

Enjoy!

Cockatoos By The Shore

Cockatoos have such appealing faces, don’t you think? The sight of these large parrots enjoying life in the wild always makes me smile. I often see Sulphur-crested Cockatoos in the local park, and even near our own house. Sometimes they choose to perch on power-lines.

But what is much nicer, I think, is to observe them in a more natural environment, and our local park with its original, native trees, is just such a place.

Enjoy!

P.S. A Countdown deal starts within twenty-four hours for my two-work anthology of wholesome romance, ‘Love, Now and Then’. Have you seen its lovely new cover by New York Times Best-selling author, Victorine Lieske?

I Wish I Could Send You Its Perfume…

5 Apr

Margaret's Classic Posts

2015_0727imagefacebook0113 I wish I could send you its perfume… There’s nothing quite like the incredibly heady aroma that radiates from this spectacular plant. It reminds me of my childhood. A magnificent specimen grew in the front yard of my aunt, and as a child I would collect the fallen flowers (which still retained their charm) and place them in a shallow bowl of water, for use as a table decoration.

The plant we have growing in our front garden here came from my own childhood home, but there it grew simply in a large pot. Soon after we moved here, my parents planted it, and it’s thrived!

Enjoy!
